Darius Ribbe is a postdoctoral researcher within the “Digital Social Science” Group led by Marius Sältzer and a lecturer at the Institute for Social Sciences at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg. His research focuses on claims to represent women in political speeches — particularly by European Commissioners — and the automation of representative claims analysis. Further, Darius is interested in the European Union’s institutional architecture and the representative functions of supranational and inter-governmental institutions. In his research, Darius works with text-as-data approaches, interviews, and network analysis.
Darius teaches classes about comparative gender studies (in political science), Germany’s and the EU’s institutional architecture and political systems, compliance in the European Union, and the relationship between the EU and Türkiye.
Darius Ribbe supports Wolfgang Wessels for the course Institutional Architecture of the EU in the first year of the Executive Master in EU Studies as well as the course Fundamentals of Scientif Work.
